The story of my recovery from abuse
My name is Dr. Lisa Turner and from the age of 13 I was sexually, psychologically, and emotionally abused by my teacher, a man who was 13 years older than me.
We first met at school where the seduction of my psyche began. Eventually I had left home, my country (my home is Australia) and all my friends to move in with him.
Within only a few short months of moving in he had me trapped as literal house prisoner. I was rarely allowed out. Outside contact was restricted and having any friends made almost impossible. He controlled all the finances giving me almost no money for myself. I believed I was entirely responsible for his happiness and blamed myself for not being good enough to make him happy. My life was pretty miserable.
It wasn’t until I was 20 that I eventually found the strength to escape.
